My chef friend turned me on to this:
Kale and Cauliflower Blanche, pre-boil, parboil, the kale and cauliflower seperately. 3-4 minutes for the kale. 5-6 minutes for the cauliflower. shock them in cold/ice water to stop the cooking.
In a large pan heat a little olive oil, saute a clove or two of garlic add a generous pinch of cayanne and toss the kale and cauliflower in just long enough to bring the vegetables up to temperature and coat with the garlic/cayanne/ olive oil.
